UMBC Poll Confirms Marylanders Want Real Change – Andy Ellis’ Go Green 2026 Campaign Has the Answers
BALTIMORE, MD – The latest UMBC poll shows what Marylanders have known for years: the political status quo is failing us. Marylanders are struggling with skyrocketing housing costs, unaffordable healthcare, and a rigged economy that benefits the wealthy while working families fall further behind.
63% say housing affordability is a top priority.
67% rate the state economy as “poor” or “fair.”
34% have skipped medical care due to cost.
More than half of Marylanders have considered leaving the state because it’s too expensive to live here.
This crisis didn’t happen by accident. It’s the direct result of a political system that works for corporate donors—not the people.
That’s why we’re building something different. The Go Green 2026 campaign, led by Andy Ellis, is the only campaign fighting for real solutions:
Housing as a human right so everyone has a home.
A solidarity economy that guarantees good-paying, union jobs, and localized economies.
Universal healthcare in Maryland—because no one should be denied care.
Community-led safety initiatives that actually prevent crime.
Publicly owned green energy to lower bills and create thousands of jobs.
“The UMBC poll confirms what we already know: Marylanders are fed up with broken promises,” said Andy Ellis, Green Party candidate for Governor. “The Democratic supermajority has had decades to solve these issues—and yet, the cost of living keeps rising, wages stay stagnant, and corporate profits soar.
People are asking: ‘If the Democrats won’t fix this, who will?’ The answer is us.
It’s time for a new politics that works for everyday people—not just the wealthy and well-connected. That’s exactly what our campaign is about.”

If you’re ready to stop settling for politics-as-usual and start fighting for real change, join Andy Ellis and Renee Johnston on March 1st for an open dialogue on how we build a Maryland that works for everyone.
This isn’t just another campaign event—it’s a movement-building conversation.
We’ll talk about how we take on the housing crisis, fight for economic justice, and challenge the two-party system that keeps Maryland stuck.
THE CHOICE IS CLEAR: MORE OF THE SAME OR A REAL ALTERNATIVE
The establishment wants you to believe that change isn’t possible—that we’re stuck with a system where working people struggle while politicians protect their donors.
But history proves otherwise. When we organize, we win.
Maryland deserves a Green New Deal.
Maryland deserves housing as a human right.
Maryland deserves leadership that answers to people—not corporations.
The old way isn’t working. Join us on March 1st and be part of the movement to build something new.
