Background:

The Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition is a movement dedicated to fighting for Black liberation and  stopping the desecration of the Moses African Cemetery on River Road. For years the coalition has fought against Democrats and developers who would prefer the history of Black life and death  in Montgomery County disappear under the parking lots and apartment buildings.  

BACC has fought in the streets, in the city and state government, and in the courts to preserve and honor the history of the Moses Cemetary AND they have worked to build a movement for reparations to descendent communities.
