Save the Date-Dialogue With Renee Johnston

Renee Johnston of  Black Liberation Media hosts a dynamic online dialogue with Andy as they explore why a strong, independent Green Party is essential to dismantling Maryland’s broken two-party system and building a future rooted in justice, peace, democracy, and ecological survival.

Maryland stands at a crossroads.

Business as usual politics by Annapolis Democrats has Maryland racing toward a multi-billion dollar budget cliff, with massive cuts looming. At the same time the Trump Administration and the D.C. Republicans are on a course to defund much of Maryland’s economy and destroy many of our communities.

Multiple crises are facing us. We are grappling with the ongoing legacy of mass incarceration as we prepare for ramping up mass deportations and mass evictions. Many of our communities are dealing with the cumulative impacts of pollution and environmental neglect and many more are one storm, one flood, or one fire away from devastating impacts.

At the same time, Maryland has a history of community led grassroots organizing , movements for human rights, labor union power, environmental activism and civil rights and freedom struggles that ave elped us survive and transform  the crises of the past.

We need a political movement with the courage to imagine a better world and the power to transform Maryland.

This event is about all of that!

We will dive into:

Why the Green Party? How third-party movements challenge corporate power and center grassroots voices.

The Climate Emergency: Why incrementalism isn’t enough—and how the Green Party’s bold policies can give our communities, the power and resources to solve their problems.

The Ellis Campaign’s Role:** How Andy Ellis’s gubernatorial run is building a **people-powered movement** to fund schools, end austerity, and prioritize *people over profit*.

Special Focus:

The fight for reparations, repair, and reinvestment.

Building a solidarity economy,

Healthcare and housing as human rights.

How grassroots democracy can break Annapolis’ cycle of empty promises.
